Apr. 18th, 2010 01:23 pmI need to start rewriting my Nexus Award speech so I don't meditate on the oddity of a scene in which one can spend an entire career "emerging," or other unedifying topics. If I stick to script, I shall tell everyone who else ought to have gotten the award instead.
But I am distracted with helping Neil Fried, Evan Levy, Priscilla Smith and a growing cast of other artists in creating a site-specific film, video and photo installation for next weekend's Inman Park Festival, plus working my real job, plus writing art reviews, plus whatever possible essay occurs to me at four o'clock in the morning, usually not connected to any of the foregoing.
Perhaps I will decide to acquire a new coat for Wednesday night's ceremony, or perhaps my threadbare status is more communicative on more than one level.
